About Zheng Jie
Zheng Jie is a Chinese former professional tennis player. She played professionally from 2003 to 2015 and holds a reputation as one of China’s most successful players of the sport.
Her career-high moments include winning two Grand Slam doubles titles (Wimbledon and Australian Open) with fellow Chinese tennis star Yan Zi and advancing to the semi-final stages of the 2008 Wimbledon and the 2010 Australian Open tournaments.
Family Life
She grew up in Sichuan, China alongside an elder sister through whom she became interested in tennis. She has been married to retired tennis player Zhang Yu. Their first child was born in April 2016.
Achievements
She won two gold medals (one each for the singles and doubles competition) at the 2006 Asian Games. She attained her highest singles ranking of number 15 in 2009.
Trivia
Her earnings from the 2008 Wimbledon tournament were donated to the Sichuan earthquake victims.
