Yolanda King was an American civil rights activist and actress who was born to one of the greatest human rights leaders of all time, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. In her lifetime she carried on his legacy by engaging in a similar lifestyle herself, as she felt his vision had yet to be fulfilled.
Yolanda put together an admirable acting résumé from 1978 to 2005. And she acted in a number of films dealing with the subject of civil rights.
Family Life
She is the first child of Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. Her junior siblings are Martin III, Dexter and Bernice King.
Trivia
She formed a lasting friendship and working relationship with Attallah Shabazz, who like herself is the firstborn of a prominent Black civil rights leader from the 1960s, that being Malcolm X.
Her death came about suddenly and unexpectedly. It is believed that she passed away from a heart condition.
