About Yasunari Kawabata
He is a Japanese story writer and novelist who has gained so much prominence for his works that he received a Nobel Prize for it.
Personal Life
When he was born, he lived a normal life but by the time he was four years old, he had lost his parents. He ended up living with his grandparents. He met his biological sister once when she was ten but she passed away about a year later. His grandmother had died a few years before and when he was fifteen years old, his grandfather also died. After losing his family on his father’s side, he moved to live with his mother’s family.
Career
In 1926, “The Dancing Girl of Izu” was the first work he published, then in 1930, “The Scarlet Gang of Asakusa” was also published. In 1949, he made “The Sound of the Mountain” public before releasing “The House of Sleeping Beauties” in 1961. Other shows he has worked on include “Beauty and Sadness”, “The Old Capital” and “Palm-of-the-Hand Stories”.
Death
He passed away in 1972. Even though it is believed that he committed suicide, his family mentioned that it was an accident.
