About Wyclef Jean
Wyclef Jean is a Haitian rapper, singer actor and social activist who rose to international stardom as a member of The Fugees, the Grammy Award-winning American hip hop group famous for such hit singles as Killing Me Softly and Ready or Not. He released his debut solo album titled The Carnival in 1997.
Personal Life
In 1994, he wedded fashion designer Claudenette Jean. The pair adopted a daughter named Angelina Claudinelle Jean in 2005.
Trivia
He attempted to run for president of Haiti during the Haitian presidential election of 2010 but was disqualified since he did not meet the Haitian constitution's residency requirement of having lived in the country for at least five years prior to an election.
He performed at the closing ceremony of the 2014 FIFA World Cup tournament.
