Shakepeare is known for creating the style of tragicomedy. A good example of this is his romantic play A Midsummer Night's Dream. His later plays were mostly tragedies like Romeo and Juliet, Othello, and Macbeth. Shakespeare was renowned while he was still alive. His tragedy Julius Caesar was the first play to be performed in the famous Globe Theatre.
