About William S. Burroughs
William S. Burroughs was an American novelist, short story writer, satirist, painter, and spoken word performer.
His Life
The life of William Burroughs was anything but dull. After graduating from Harvard University, he traveled to Europe and then briefly enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then moved in with Joan Vollmer Adams and fellow Beat Generation writer Jack Kerouac. Unfortunately, Burroughs got into trouble with heroin and, subsequently, law enforcement. After fleeing the U.S., Burroughs lived in Mexico, South America, Morocco, Paris.
His Work
Though Burroughs wrote many works, his most famous is Naked Lunch, which is nonlinear and uses a unique cut-up technique.
