About William Harvey
English physician William Harvey earned his first Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Padua in Italy at the age of 24 in April 1602. He earned his second the same year from the University of Cambridge. He is renowned for having made significant contributions to the fields of physiology and anatomy. The most notable of them is when he became the first known physician to describe the process of the circulatory system in detail.
Family Life
He was the first of the nine children of Joan Halke and Thomas Harvey. His marriage to Elizabeth Browne was childless. His father-in-law was Dr Lancelot Browne.
Death
He died on 3 June 1657 of what was suspected to be cerebral haemorrhage.
