About William Hartnell
William Hartnell is famously known for playing the First Doctor character in the 1963 television program titled “Doctor Who”. Throughout his acting days, the late English star appeared in more than 75 television series and movies including “Carry On Sergeant”, “The Holly and the Ivy” and “The World Ten Times Over”.
He also appeared in lots of stage performances which were mostly centered on Shakespeare’s works. Some of the plays were titled “Macbeth”, “As You Like It”, and “Hamlet”.
Family
He was raised by his mother called Lucy Hartnell. Until his death, he was married to Heather McIntyre with whom he had a child called Heather Anne. His granddaughter is an actress named Jessica Carney.
Trivia
Before acting, he trained as a horse jockey.
