William Faulkner was a Nobel Prize-winning American writer whose most famous novels include 1929's The Sound and the Fury, 1930's As I Lay Dying and 1954's A Fable. For his significant contribution to American literature, he was honored with the 1949 Nobel Prize in Literature. He is one of the greatest novelists of the 20th century.
