Criminal Activities
Holleeder’s began gravitating towards crime at an early age. Growing up, he was a member of a gang and all they did was to engage in robberies and also help landlords force out trespassers.
Holleeder’s first major crime was in 1983, when he, together with his fraternity, abducted Freddy Heineken, who was the chairman of the Heineken Company. Interestingly, Holleeder’s father had worked with the company but was sacked some few years later as a result of his drinking problem. Heineken remained in their custody for some time until he was released. Few days after the man’s release, the criminal was arrested together with his other accomplices and he was made to serve 11 years in prison.
He went ahead to get involved in other crimes which also led to his arrest and imprisonment. One could conclude that the criminal spent most of his life in prison.
His biggest sentence was in 2019, when after his trial, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of about five persons, which included his best friend Cor Van Hout.
