He is popular for being a religious leader, who served in the highest office of the “Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints”. His name is accompanied by several imagery of underage sex crimes. His crimes – which included organization of illegal marriages that involved under-aged girls – landed him on FBI's wanted list in 2006.
After barely escaping justice in 2010, he was eventually handed a life sentence plus twenty years after he was found guilty of two felony of child sexual assault.

His father, Rulon Jeffs served as President under the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS Church), while he was born to mother, Merilyn Steed. His siblings are Leslie, Blaine, Ward, Isaac, Nephi, Seth and Lyle Jeffs.
He is noted to have been married to Millie Blackmore and Annie Blackmore. He got married to Nolita Blackmore in 2005. He got married to Merrianne Jessop in 2006.
Trivia
He attempted hanging himself in jail in 2007.
In 2012, he prophesied that the world would end in 2013.
