About Wally Amos
Before rising to fame, Wally Amos worked at the William Morris Agency as a talent agent. It was during his time with the agency that he came up with his renowned cookies which he developed into the Famous Amos chocolate-chip. He also found fame as a television personality, and appeared on shows such as “Learn to Read” which was first aired on PBS.
Other Works
Amos was also a popular writer. His first well-known publication came in 1983 which was entitled “The Famous Amos Story: The Face That Launched a Thousand Chips”. He received applauds for his 2006 book “Be Positive! Insights On How To Live An Inspiring And Joy Filled Life”.
Personal Life
He was raised by his aunt after his parents divorced at an early age. He was married to Christine Amos-Harris. The couple, whose marriage was in 1979, had four kids named Shawn Amos, Sarah Amos, Michael Amos, and Gregory Amos.
Trivia
Amos abandoned his high school education to join the U.S. Air Force.
He was the first black-American to work as a talent agent for William Morris Agency.
During his time with the agency, he worked with musicians like Marvin Gaye, and Sam Cooke.
