She married famous American actor and comedian Will Ferrell in 2000. She and Ferrell's first son Magnus was born in 2004. Their second son Mattias came in 2006. The couple had their third son Axel in 2010.

Hours after appearing on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien along with her husband Ferrell, she was rushed to a hospital, where she successfully delivered her third son.
