Twinkle Khanna is an Indian former actress, film producer, interior designer and author. Nielsen BookScan India named her the Indian highest-selling female author, following the release of her book, "Pyjamas Are Forgiving" (2018). Her two previous books, "Mrs Funnybones" and "The Legend Of Lakshmi Prasad" were not left out as they were both declared bestsellers.
Her acting debut was in 1995 when she appeared in the romantic film named, "Barsaat". During the course of her career, Khanna is noted to have appeared on several other films including the 2000 action film, “Mela”, where she played the role of Roopa Singh.
Family Life
She was born to an Indian actor, film producer and politician, Rajesh Khanna. Her mother, Dimple Kapadia is also an Indian actress. Her junior sister is the Indian actress named, Rinke Khanna.
She got married to Indian-Canadian born actor and martial artist, Akshay Kumar in the year 2001. Her children include; Aarav and Nitara Kumar. Her aunt is the late Bollywood actress and costume designer, Simple Kapadia.
Achievements
For her role in "Barsaat", Khanna picked up the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut in 1996.
