Family Life
Her parents are Mike Gabbard and Carol Porter. She was raised along with four siblings. She got married to Eduardo Tamayo in 2002 but divorced in 2006. She later got married to freelance cinematographer, Abraham Williams in 2015.
Achievements
Gabbard was elected to the Hawaii House of Representatives in 2002.
Between 2004 and 2005, she served as a Hawaii Army National Guard in Iraq.
She served as a vice chair for the Democratic National Committee between 2013 and 2016.
Gabbard was honored with the John F. Kennedy New Frontier Award in 2013.
Trivia
She launched her campaign for the 2020 presidential election in February 2019 – however, she stepped out of the race in March 2020 to endorse Vice President, Joe Biden.
She is a vegan.
