He is a Welsh singer who was born Sir. Thomas Woodward but he is known by his stage name, "Tom Jones". He rose to fame during the mid-19960s, releasing multiple top-ten hits.
In 1963, he was named the frontman of a Welsh beat group, "Tommy Scott and the Senators".

He is the son of Thomas Woodward, who was a coal miner. His mother is Freda Jones. He has a sister named Shelia Woodward.
He got married to his high school sweetheart, Melinda Trenchard in 1957 and they both stayed married for about 59 years till her death in 2016. His children are Welsh manager, Mark Woodward and singer, Katherine Berkery.
