About Todd Bertuzzi
Canadian retired ice hockey player Todd Bertuzzi played the sport at the amateur level in 1990 and got drafted into the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in 1991 by the Guelph Storm.
In 1995, two years after the New York Islanders selected him in the NHL Draft, he made his debut in the league with the Islanders. His longest spell (1998-2006) in the league was with the Vancouver Canucks and the second-longest (2009-2014) was with the Detroit Red Wings, where he retired.
He also had stints with the Florida Panthers, Anaheim Ducks and Calgary Flames.
Family Life
He grew up in Sudbury, Ontario as the son of an Italian-Canadian man, Albert Bertuzzi. He is the uncle of Tyler Bertuzzi, a professional ice hockey forward who has played for the Detroit Red Wings.
He has a son and a daughter with Julie, his wife since 1996.
Achievements
He won the Vancouver Canucks’ “Most Exciting Player Award” four times. He also played in two NHL All-Star games.
Trivia
He represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.
