About Thomas C. Hart
The storied life of the one-time sea boy's ascent into the U.S. Senate is one that evokes admiration and respect rather than love. Though he was one of the most decorated of his colleagues, Admiral Mart was known for his often blunt and aloof nature, which earned him the nickname “Terrible Tommy.”

Prior to his admission to the U.S. Naval Academy, the Michigan native studied at public schools at Davison and Flint.
