About Tessa Virtue
Tessa Jane McCormick Virtue, is undoubtedly one of the world’s greatest icons in ice dancing history. She is a former Canadian ice dancer and is famously known for holding numerous records and honors in the field with her long-term dance partner “Scott Moir.”
Early life & Education
She was born in Ontario, Canada. After showing great interest in ice skating at age six, she met her partner the following year and earned admission into the National Ballet School at age nine. She schooled at Holy Names High School and AMDEC in Ontario.
Tessa holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Windsor and the University of Western Ontario.
Major Career Highlights
Her partnership with Scott Moir has seen success throughout their ice dance careers since it began in 1997. They won the “2004 Canadian junior championship,” “2006 World Junior Championship,” and were gold medalists at the “2006 Junior Grand Prix.” In addition, they were eight-time Canadian National champions, three-time World champions, and two-time Olympic champions. As of 2020, they were the most decorated Olympic figure skaters in history. In 2020, they were inducted into the “Order of Canada” for their excellent and inspiring figure skating careers.
Relationships
Tessa debunked all rumors of a romantic affair with Scott Moir but accepted to have dated ice hockey star Morgan Rielly in 2020.
