Family
He is the son of Boris Sheynin and Radjabova. He uses his mother’s surname because of a preconception against his father’s Jewish heritage.
Career
Radjabov was trained by his father. The child prodigy was the youngest player among the 1999 European under 18 chess game and emerged as the winner. He also won against renowned chess players like Garry Kasparov and Ruslan Ponomariov.
He competed at the Candidates Tournament three times and took the third position in 2022. Ten years prior, he participated in the European Team Chess Championship and emerged as the winner.
Achievements
He won the 2021 Airthings Master, 2019 FIDE World Cup and Elista Grand Prix in 2008
Radjabov was made a UNICEF National Goodwill Ambassador in 2006.
