Tayshaun Durrell Prince retired from basketball as a professional player in 2016 after 14 years in the NBA. He played for the University of Kentucky’s men’s football team from 1998 to 2002, after which he was chosen by the Detroit Pistons in the 2002 draft. He also played for the Memphis Grizzlies (2013-2015), Boston Celtics (2015) and Minnesota Timberwolves (2015-2016).
Personal Life
He was raised in Compton, California, where he played basketball for the Dominguez High School and emerged as the ‘California Mr. Basketball’ in 1998.
Achievements
He won the 2004 NBA Championship with the Detroit Pistons. From 2005 to 2008, he was named in the NBA’s All-Defensive Second Team.
Trivia
He represented the United States as a member of the men’s basketball team at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and the 2007 FIBA Americas Championships, winning gold at the end of both events.
