About Tarja Turunen
As an entertainer Tarja Turunen is famous for her unique singing abilities in the heavy metal music genre.
In 1996 she started a music band known as Nightwish together with a guitarist whose name is Emppu Vuorinen and a songwriter named Tuomas Holopainen. She was sacked from the band in 2005.
Her solo career kick-started in 2006 and she went ahead to release her first album titled “Henkäys ikuisuudesta”. She also launched another album in 2007 titled, “My Winter Storm”.
Family
She has two brothers namely Toni and Timo. She is the daughter of a carpenter called Teuvo Turunen. Ritva Sisko Marjatta is the name of her mother.
In December 2002, she and a businessman from Argentina tied the knot. In 2012 she and her husband gave birth to a daughter they named, Naomi Turunen.

The Finnish singer was born as Tarja Soile Susanna Turunen-Cabuli. She is sometimes referred to as Tarja.
The singer studied music at Karlsruhe's University of Music in Germany. Before that, she attended Sibelius Academy, which is also a music school in Finland.
She plays a number of instruments including the piano and synthesizer. She started playing the former when she was 6 years old.
She was taught by musician and tutor, Plamen Dimov.
