About Steven Stayner
Steven Stayner was an American victim of kidnapping. At 7 years old, on 4 December 1972, he was abducted by child rapist Kenneth Parnell, after he was initially made to believe that he was being driven to his home to get his mother to donate items to a church.
It was not until a little over seven years later, after Parnell had kidnapped a five-year-old boy, Timothy White that he was able to escape. He had initially planned to help White escape and return to Parnell’s residence but he was also seen by the police and had no option than to reveal his identity.
Family Life
He was the second son of Kay and Delbert Stayner. His elder brother, Cary received a death sentence in 2002 for killing four women in 1999.
Death
He died on 16 September 1989 at the age of 24 following head injuries from his motorcycle colliding with a car.
