Steve Lukather is a guitarist, songwriter, singer, record producer and arranger. Since making his debut on the music scene in the 1970s, he has risen to fame for two things: his work with the rock band, Toto and his prominence as a session musician. He co-founded Toto with his high school friends in 1976 and has become the only member who has been with the band since its inception.

He was born to Kathy and Bill Lukather. He was raised in San Fernando Valley, California. He was married to a woman named Shawn Batten from 2002 to 2010. He has two children.

He has been the recipient of five Grammy Awards.
