Steve Forbes, born Malcolm Stevenson Forbes Jr., is a revered American republican politician and publishing executive. He is widely known as the editor-in-chief of the internationally acclaimed publication “Forbes” and has twice sought the presidential candidacy of the Republican Party.

Steve is a native of New Jersey, having been born in Morristown, and raised in Far Hill. He is the grandson of Forbes founder Bertie Charles Forbes.
He attended the Far Hills Country Day School and is a 1966 cum laude graduate of Brooks School. In addition, he holds an “AB” in history from Princeton University.
Publishing Career Highlights
During his college education at Princeton, he collaborated with two students to found the “Business Today” magazine, which has become one of the world’s largest student-operated magazines.
With over four decades of experience at Forbes, he has worked as a researcher, writer, chief operating officer and president of the publication.
Political Career Highlights
Between 1985 and 1993, President Ronald Reagan and President George H.W. Bush appointed him to lead the “Board for International Broadcasting (BIB).”
In 1993, he founded “Empower America” with former congressman Jack Kemp. The group advocated for supply-side incentives such as deregulation and lower taxes as the ultimate means to stimulate America’s growth.
Unfortunately, he lost as a presidential aspirant during the 1996 and 2000 Republican primaries.
