Personal Life
His birth name was Stephen Maynard Clark, he has been a music lover since childhood. By the time he was seven, he had attended his first concert. His father, not long after, gifted him a guitar and made him promise he will learn to play. When he grew up, he started getting addicted to alcohol and despite the intervention of Lorelei Shellist, his girlfriend at the time, and his band members, he could not break free from his addiction.
Career
He started working as a lathe operator. At that time, he had a small band that he played for named “Electric chicken”. The founder of Def Leppard saw him one day whiles he was reading a book about guitars and after a bit of interaction, he was invited to an audition for his band. Even though he did not attend, they met again and talked. This time, Steve honored the invitation and became a part of the group.
Death
The band gave him a break to live his life a bit and enjoy life but that only gave him time to keep drinking until he was found dead at home at the age of thirty. He died as a result of taking a deadly mixture of prescription drugs and alcohol.
