About Sterling Holloway
Sterling Holloway was a prominent American actor who rose to international fame for his many voice acting works for Walt Disney Company. He was highly praised for lending his voice to the Cheshire Cat character in the 1951 animated film “Alice in Wonderland”.
He was cast in not less than 40 television series and 100 films. Some popular works that he appeared in were “Robin Hood of Texas” and “Kentucky Rifle”.
Family
He was one of the children of Sterling Price Holloway and his wife Rebecca DeHaven Boothby. He spent his childhood days with his brother called Boothby. He was the father of Richard Holloway.
Education
At age 15, he completed his education at Georgia Military Academy. He was further trained at American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
Trivia
He was known to be a Democrat sympathizer.
Holloway joined the United States Army in 1942.
In 1991, he was named a Disney Legend.
