About Stephen Wolfram
Before his eighteenth birthday, Stephen Wolfram had started researching on a number of topics in physics. Within that period, he wrote lots of articles which were published in some scientific journals such as the Australian Journal of Physics, and the Nuovo Cimento.
He later turned his attention to computer science and worked on a number of projects before establishing the Wolfram Research in 1987. The British-born American scientist is celebrated for designing the answer engine known as Wolfram Alpha, as well as the Wolfram Mathematica software.
Family
He’s the son of English businessman Hugo Wolfram and his wife Sybil who was a writer and philosopher.
Education
Wolfram joined California Institute of Technology after completing his education at St. John's College in Oxford, and Eton College.
Achievements
He became a member of the prestigious American Mathematical Society in 2012.
Trivia
Some of his numerous books are titled “A New Kind of Science” and “Adventures of a Computational Explorer”.
In 1981, he became the youngest person to receive the MacArthur Fellowships.
