About Simon Wright
Simon J. Wright is a well-recognized English drummer who has worked with different bands. He is mostly known for his work with AC/DC and Dio. He loved playing drums since his teenage years.
Career
He joined the band A II Z which was founded by Gary Owens, a guitarist. Before that, he was part of the band “Tora Tora”. By the time he was twenty, he had joined AC/DC and replaced their drummer who was no longer a part of the band. He attended the audition for the position of the drummer and after playing three songs, he was accepted. He was part of the group when they recorded the albums “Who Made Who”, “Blow Up Your Video” and “Fly on the Wall” before he left the group. He mentioned that he lost his enthusiasm as a member of the group which made his work difficult that was why he left.
He went on to join “Rhino Bucket”. In 2018, he became a part of the project “Dream Child” by Frontiers Records where he played the drums and Craig Goldy played the guitar. He has also worked with “John Norum” and “UFO” among others.
