About Sid Wilson
Sid Wilson is an American musician who mostly performs as a pianist, DJ, and a rapper. His journey to stardom began in 1998 when he joined the heavy metal group called Slipknot. He worked on the turntables during his early years in the group, before becoming the pianist in 2008.
He played a pivotal role in recording the group’s self-titled maiden album. By the end of 2019, he had helped the collective to release a total of six albums which include “We Are Not Your Kind” and “All Hope Is Gone”.
Other projects
Aside from his works with the ensemble, he has also toured and performed as an independent artiste. Famously known as DJ Starscream, he has published a number of musical projects with some titled “Full Metal Scratch-It” and “The New Leader”.
In 2010, he embarked on a tour with his music band called SID. Other prominent artistes that he has worked with include Japanese vocalist Hiroshi Kyono, and Stone Sour.
Personal Life
Much isn’t known about his private life, aside from the fact that he shared a picture of his mum on his Instagram page to celebrate the 2021 Mother's Day.
Awards
With Slipknot, he won a Grammy Award in 2006.
Trivia
He mostly wears a gas mask when performing with the group.
He has tattoos of some characters from the “Transformers” franchise which confirms his love for the movie.
