About Shorty Rossi
"Shorty" Rossi is the former star of "Pit Boss", an Animal Planet reality show that aired from 2010 to 2013. He’s also been involved with Shortywood Productions, an entertainment company that works with and empowers little people.
Troubled Childhood and Incarceration
Born Luigi Francis Rossi on 10th February, 1969 in Los Angeles, Rossi graduated high school in 1987. He became a member of the local Blood gang. Around the age of 19, he found himself on the wrong side of the law, having gotten involved in a gang-related shooting. He was subsequently convicted of felonies and was handed a 10-year-prison sentence. He did his time first at the California Youth Authority and later at Folsom State Prison in Folsom, California.
Career
After completing his sentence, he ventured into entertainment, quickly discovering that he could make a decent living making good use of his diminutive structure in show business. His first job in the industry was as "Alvin" in an “Alvin and the Chipmunks'' stage show at Universal Studios Hollywood, California.
Shorty Rossi has since appeared in numerous commercials and films, including "The Grinch" and "The Kid". In those two films, he starred with Jim Carrey and Bruce Willis.
He has appeared on many TV shows and has spent quite some time performing in the theater.

He established Shortywood Productions (2000) to provide and manage little people performers for all kinds of shows and events.
He trained one of his own pit bulls to be a service animal and has since been an active member of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) community.
In 2012, he published his first memoir, “Four Feet Tall and Rising”.
