About Shock G
Born Gregory Edward Jacobs, Shock G was an American rapper and actor. He became prominent as a member of the defunct hip hop group, Digital Underground - a group that includes the likes of 2Pac, Chopmaster J, and Boni Boyer - where he performed as lead vocalist. His albums include "Sex Packets, Digital Underground" (1990), "The Body Hat Syndrome, Digital Underground" (1993), and "Fear of a Mixed Planet, Shock-G" (2004).
Over the course of his music career, he worked with some popular figures like Dr. Dre, Rappin' 4-Tay, Raw Fusion, and Prince. He eventually died in his hotel room in April 2021.
Family Life
His father, Edward Racker worked as a computer manager, while his mother, Shirley Kraft worked as a television producer. He had a brother named Kent Racker.
Achievements
He was nominated for the "Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group" at the 1990 Grammy Awards, for his performance in "The Humpty Dance."
Trivia
Shock was also good at playing the piano and keyboards.
He attended George D. Chamberlain High School in Tampa, Florida; and studied Music Theory at Hillsborough Community College in Hillsborough County, Florida.
