Personal Life
Charles Gailey Brown and Emily Campbell named their son Sherrod Campbell Brown. His brother who was named Charles also worked as an Attorney General of West Virginia. He studied at Mansfield Senior High School then continued to Yale University where he received a degree in Russian Studies. From there, he attended Ohio State University and received a Masters’ degree in Education and Public Administration within three years. In 1979, he married Larke Ummel but the marriage ended in eight years. He then made Connie Schultz his wife. At the time, she worked as a newspaper columnist but had to quit because her work and her marriage to a politician would be conflicting.
Career
In 1974, he became the youngest person to work as a State representative for Ohio. He was in this position till 1982 when he contested to be the Ohio Secretary of State. He was also the one who brought about the Gold Star Fathers Act of 2014 which helped the fathers of veterans get federal jobs.
