Career in brief
In the 1960’s, he played in folk clubs. In 1964, he released “The New Frankie and Johnnie song” which was an adaptation of the song “Frankie and Johnnie” by Bob Gibson.
He later signed with Columbia Records and released “I’m a Loner” and “Shawn”. He met Donovan Phillips Leitch who was also a Scottish musician and producer and worked on a lot of music together. He became a signee of A&M Records and released “Contribution”, “Second Contribution” and “Collaboration”.
Personal Life
His father was a writer who used the name “Philip Atlee” in his novels. His nephew is David Atlee Philips, a CIA officer who was believed to have connections with Lee Harvey Oswald, an alleged assassin. As a child, he learned how to play the guitar. He joined the US Navy for some time and moved around the world. He became the husband of Juliette.
Achievements
His Tracks “Bright White”, “Do You Wonder”, “Faces” and “Furthermore” put him out there as they made it the Billboard Pop LP Charts with just “Do You Wonder” going past the 100th mark at No. 101.
