About Seungri
Seungri is the stage name of South Korean retired singer, songwriter, record producer and actor Lee Seung-hyun. He started out professionally in the Korean entertainment industry in 2006 as one of the vocalists of the popular boy band, Big Bang.
In 2008, he began a solo career in acting and three years later, his first EP as a solo artist, titled “V.V.I.P., came out. He made appearances in the films “Nineteen”, “High & Low: The Movie” and the drama series “Angel Eyes”.
Personal Life
He grew up in Gwangju, South Korea. Besides Korean, he is also a fluent Mandarin, Japanese and English speaker.
Achievements
As a solo act, he has received awards from the SBS Entertainment Awards, The Musical Awards and the Korea China International Film Festival.
Retirement
He announced his retirement in March 2019 following allegations of his involvement in a Korean sex scandal called Burning Sun Scandal.
