Sandra Dee was an American actress who first gained recognition as a child model before going on to establish a successful career in the film industry. One of her most memorable roles as an actress was in the 1957 film Until They Sail, where she played the character Evelyn Leslie. Her other famous film credits include 1959's Imitation of Life and 1961's Come September.
Personal Life
In 1960, she married American singer-songwriter Bobby Darin. The marriage produced her only child - Dodd Mitchell Darin. She never got married again after divorcing Darin in 1965.
Trivia
She claimed that during her childhood years, her stepfather sexually abused her.
Throughout her life, she battled immensely with anorexia nervosa which caused her to develop the kidney disease that eventually claimed her life.
