He married Helen Robson in 1943 and remained married to her until his death in 1992. He had four children with her.
Achievements
He was the richest person in the United States between 1982 and 1988.
He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which is one of America's highest civilian awards. The highly prestigious award was bestowed on him in 1992 by President George H.W. Bush.
In 1998, Time magazine added him to its list of the 100 most influential people of the 20th Century.
