About Rue McClanahan
Rue McClanahan was an American actress and model famed for playing the characters Vivian Harmon on the TV series Maude from 1972 to 1978 and Fran Crowley on Mama's Family from 1984 to 1985. She also made a name for herself starring as Blanche Devereaux on the television series The Golden Girls from 1985 to 1992.
Personal Life
She was married six times. Her final marriage was to Morrow Wilson, whom she married in 1997. She and Morrow remained married until her death in 2010.
Awards
In 1969, she won an Obie Award for Best Actress for her role in the Off Broadway show “Who's Happy Now?”. Her performance in The Golden Girls won her an Emmy Award in 1987 and a Golden Apple Award in 1986.
