About Ron Wyden
Ron Wyden, the trained Lawyer, started his career as a university lecturer. His political journey began in 1981 when he was voted into the United States House of Representatives. After 15 years, he was elected into the Senate as a representative from Oregon.
Between 2015 and 2021, he served on the Senate Finance Committee as a Ranking Member. He was later named the chairman of the committee in 2021. This Democratic politician is famously known for his stance against assisted suicide, as well as his support for same-sex marriage.
Family
He’s the son of American journalist Peter H. Wyden and his wife Edith Rosenow. His 20 year marriage to Laurie Oseran ended in 1999. During their time together, the couple had two kids named Lilly and Adam. He got married to Nancy in 2005. The couple welcomed a set of twins two years later.
Education
After Palo Alto High School, Wyden joined the University of California, Santa Barbara. He later moved to Stanford University. This politician studied law at the University of Oregon School of Law.
Trivia
He worked with the Oregon State Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators from 1977 to 1979.
