About Roger Taylor
He is a British musician, popularly acknowledged for his membership with the British band, "Duran Duran" where he played the position of the group's drummer. Due to the band's success, they are credited for having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. Roger Taylor rose to prominence with the group during the 1980s.
He is noted for having played on the group's first three albums namely, "Seven and the Ragged Tiger", "Duran Duran" and "Rio". The band composed the song, "A View to a Kill" which was used in the 1985 James Bond film.
Family Life
He was born to a father, who worked in a car industry. He married Giovanna Cantone in 1984, a marriage that came to an end in 2005. He got married to Gisella Bernales in 2007. His children are noted to be Ellea, James, Elliot and Julian Roger.
Achievements
Taylor and his “Duran Duran” band mates received the "Best Music Video, Short Form" and "Best Music Video, Long Form" at the 1984 Grammy Awards. The following year, they won the "Best Group (Silver)" at the 1985 Bravo Otto Awards.
The band earned the "Best British Video" and "Outstanding Contribution To Music" at the 1985 and 2004 Brit Awards respectively.
The group, respectively, received the "Q Lifetime Achievement Award" and the "Q Icon Award" at the 2003 and 2015 Q Awards.
