About Rodri
Rodrigo Hernández Cascante is a Spanish soccer player who’s admired for his exceptional passing prowess. After an unsuccessful spell with the youth team of Atlético Madrid, Rodri, as he’s famously called, joined Villarreal in 2013. It was during his time with the team that the highly-rated defensive midfielder made his professional debut in 2015.
Three years later, he returned to his boyhood club, Atlético Madrid, in a deal reported to be around €20 million. He helped the team to win the UEFA Super Cup in 2018 before moving to England the following year to sign for Manchester City. In 2022, the Spaniard won his second Premier League title with City. He was also a member of the team that reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2021.
International Career
Rodri played for Spain at different age levels before making his senior debut in 2018. With the team, he has featured in competitions like the UEFA Euro, and the UEFA Nations League.
Honors
With Manchester City, he has won the EFL Cup, and the FA Community Shield. In November 2021, he won the Premier League’s “Goal of the Month”.
Trivia
