Ajax, where he assisted in winning multiple competitions.

He turned to coaching once his playing career was over and was still considered one of the greatest in the world. He began his coaching career with Asser Boys in 1953. After that, he continued managing several clubs, including Ajax, Barcelona, Netherlands, Bayer Leverkusen, and Los Angeles Aztecs.
