Richard Schroder, who is largely known as "Ricky Schroder" is an American actor and film director, who started off his acting career as a child in the 1979 film, "The Champ", where he played the role of Timothy Joseph ("T.J.") Flynn.
He went ahead to feature in the 1982 - 1987 sitcom, "Silver Spoons", which certified his place as a child star. Some of that films in which he has featured in include "The Last Flight of Noah's Ark" (1980), "Too Young the Hero" (1980), "The Lost Battalion" (2001), and "Get Him to the Greek" (2010).

He was born to father, Richard Schroder, and mother, Diane Bartlett, who both worked for AT&T. He is noted to have a sister named Dawn Schroder.
He got married to Andrea Bernard in 1992 – their union ended in 2016 after 24 years. His children are actresses, Cambrie, Faith Schroder, and actors, Holden and Luke Schroder.

He won the award for "New Star of the Year – Actor" at the 1976 Golden Globe Awards.
