Over the years, he has had several romantic associations with different actresses such as Marlee Matlin, Sela Ward, and Lara Flynn Boyle. On August 2, 1998, he had a daughter named Wylie with Apryl Prose.

Trivia

As a child, he aspired to become a professional hockey player but he gave the dream up after breaking his arms.
