About Richard Crenna
Richard Crenna began as a radio actor in 1937 when he was cast in a production titled “Boy Scout Jamboree”. He worked on a number of productions until he had his first notable television role in an episode of “I Love Lucy” in 1952. Throughout his 66 years in the movie industry, he appeared in many television series and films with the most notable ones titled “Un Flic”, “The Flamingo Kid” and “The Real McCoys”.
Personal Life
He was raised as the only son of Dominick Anthony and Edith J. Crenna. For five years, he was married to Joan Grisham. Their union ended in 1955. Until his death, he was married to Penni Sweeney. He left behind three children including Seana Crenna.
Education
He studied at Virgil Junior High School, and Belmont High School before reading English Literature at the University of Southern California.
Honors
A star has been placed on the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame in his honor. He also won the “Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie” award at the 1985 Primetime Emmy Awards.
Death
His death was caused by heart-related issues.
