About Richard Brautigan
American writer Richard Brautigan published four poetry books and ten novels during his illustrious career which lasted for over two decades. He gained global fame with his 1967 book titled “Trout Fishing in America” and was considered one of the best writers in the 1960s and 1970s.
He has gained international fame with novels like “The Abortion: An Historical Romance 1966” and “In Watermelon Sugar”. Aside from the United States, his works have been published in countries like China and Japan.
Family
Brautigan was born to Lulu Mary Keho and Bernard Frederick Brautigan Jr. He walked down the aisle with Virginia Dionne Alder in 1957. Their union produced a daughter.

He attended Woodrow Wilson Junior High School after spending some time at Eugene High School.
