Rex Ryan became a global icon after he was named the head coach of NFL side, New York Jets, in 2009. He has also worked with other teams in the league including Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens. In 2016, he joined the ESPN television network as an analyst after leaving his role at the Bills.
Family
Ryan, and his twin brother, Rob, followed the footsteps of their father, James David "Buddy" Ryan, who was a renowned NFL coach. His mum, Doris, also played a huge role in the development of his career.
He married his longtime lover, Michelle, in 1987. Their sons are called Seth, who is a former football player, and Payton.
Trivia
In 2009, he disclosed that he was suffering from dyslexia.
