Renaud Pierre Manuel Séchan, known in showbiz simply as Renaud, is globally admired for his special 'broken' voice. The French singer rose to fame with his 1975 album which is usually referred to as " Amoureux de Paname".
Popular among Francophone countries, Renaud has released loads of albums with some titled “Laisse béton” and “Marchand de cailloux”.
Acting Career
His initial dream was to become an actor. At an early age, he joined the Café de la Gare comedy theatre where he had the opportunity to work with some popular actors like Patrick Dewaere. He established his name in the industry with his Étienne Lantier role in the film “Germinal” which was released in 1993. He also played a part in 2003’s “Crime Spree”.
Family
He was born to writer Olivier Séchan. His brother Thierry Séchan was also a novelist and journalist. Until 2011, he was married to Romane Serda. His two children are Lolita Séchan, a writer, and Malone.

His work titled "Renaud cante el' Nord" was named the “Traditional music album of the year award” in 1993.
