Raoul Bova is an Italian actor who rose to fame after his appearance in Carlo Vanzina’s 1993 movie "Piccolo grande amore". He has since acted in films such as "The Tourist" and "Under the Tuscan Sun".
Early Life
The actor was born to Guiseppe Bova and Rosa Bova. He took up swimming at a very young age and became the 100-meter backstroke champion at 16. Bova enlisted in the army at 21 and later enrolled in the Italian Institute of Physical Education. He pursued his love for acting at the School of Beatrice Bracco in Rome.
Career
The Italian actor was cast as Marco in Carlo Vanzina’s 1993 romantic comedy "Pretty Princess". The recognition he gained from then onward helped him secure a role in movies such as "Avenging Angelo" and "The Tourist". In the latter, which was directed by the German director Florian Henckel von Donnersmark, Bova was part of a stellar cast that included Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie.
He amazed audiences in 2004 when he co-starred with American actress Sanaa Lathan in Paul Anderson’s sci-fi action film "Alien vs. Predator". Other films that he has featured in include “The Nymph”, “The Knights of the Quest”, and “Avenging Angelo”.
In 2019, Bova was cast in the "La Reina del Sur" crime drama series.
Personal Life
The actor was married to Chiara Giordano from 2000 to 2013. Shortly after his divorce, he became romantically involved with Rocío Muñoz Morales. He has a total of 4 children as of 2021.
