About Rafael Trujillo
Rafael Trujillo was the political leader of the Dominican Republic between 1930 and 1961. Though he was elected as the president on two separate occasions (1930 – 1938 and 1942 – 1952), he served as a military warlord from 1952 to 1961. His tenure has been described by many as one of the deadliest periods in the history of the country.
